  • Tax acts (VAT and Income Tax) knowledge
  • Short-term insurance act and regulations knowledg

  • Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably in insurance or related financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and financial reporting standards – including an understanding of IFRS17
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities:

Applies principles of accounting to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports. Compiles and analyses financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Analyses financial information detailing with assets, liabilities and capital. Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarise and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers. Audits contracts, orders and vouchers and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement. Installs, modifies, documents and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures. May make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures. May have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Preparation and analysis of statutory financial statements and reports, including month end reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, ledgers and reconciliations.
  • General Ledger management and ensuring integrity of all accounts during month-end close.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with audits, tax filings and other financial compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities.
