Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of our SDL Surveying Finance Team, you’ll take on a range of financial responsibilities that go beyond traditional accounting. Reporting to our Finance Director, you’ll manage both management and financial reporting, influence commercial decisions, and play an integral role in driving business improvement. This position offers a unique chance to develop a broad range of skills and advance your career, making it ideal for a qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant ready for the next step.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend senior management meetings and represent the Finance Director when needed
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and insightful board/management reporting packs
  • Act as a proactive business partner to support margin management and corporate overheads
  • Oversee cash flow, cash forecasting, and work closely with the sales and purchase ledger teams
  • Handle year-end financial statements, liaising with external auditors to meet deadlines
  • Prepare company taxation returns (VAT, corporation tax, R&D tax claims, etc.)
  • Collaborate with senior management to produce budgets and forecasts, maintaining a live forecast
  • Drive the development of enhanced management reporting and analysis
  • Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations, payroll checks, and internal audits
  • Oversee the company fixed asset register in compliance with IFRS16
