Based in our Osborne Park office and reporting to the Team Lead Financial Accounting, our Financial Accountant role has a strong focus on delivering timely and accurate monthly results for our entities within the West Australian Newspaper Group. These reports have high visibility within the organisation and drive important business decisions.
Your experience within a busy commercial environment, a solid understanding of key financial month end closing activities and an analytical mindset are crucial skills you will bring to this role. You will be backed by a dynamic and encouraging team, ensuring that you will be supported along the way.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation monthly financial reporting activities, including:
- Creation and processing of journals
- Reconciliations (Bank & Balance Sheet)
- Analysis of results
- Prepayments and accrual calculations
- Cost allocations between departments
- Intercompany recharges with Group entity
- Compliance related work including:
- Corporate credit card finance approvals
- Assist with half year and year end audit queries
- Preparation FBT schedules to support Group submission of returns
- Assistance with income tax schedules for tax effect accounting
- Assist BAS reporting
- Supporting team with fixed asset accounting, Telethon and other ad hoc accounting tasks
