We are hiring a Financial Accounting Analyst who will be responsible for STAT financial reporting and general ledger account review associated with our Companies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with accounting principles, reporting, analysis and general ledger.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Curious and analytical mindset - experience using data to tell a story and advise business partners.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience - SAP experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in insurance accounting is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Work with finance team to prepare and report monthly, quarterly, and yearly Statutory financial reports.
  • Review the general ledger and trial balances monthly. Become familiar with accounts and reconcile those accounts as needed.
  • Enter monthly Journal entries to reconcile and close books.
  • Investigate discrepancies in the general ledger accounts and find and recommend solutions.
  • Communicate and work with other finance team members to explain and correct discrepancy findings.
  • Work with finance team to correct and reconcile data between multiple systems.
  • Verify information sent to state regulators and other states is accurate and free of errors.
  • Assist finance team in the preparation of monthly investment reports and reconciliations.
  • Assist the finance team with audit requests associated with claims data, general ledger reporting, journal entry reports.
  • Be able to work through detailed information including outputs with hundreds of lines of data.
