Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager

Job Description
The Financial accounting & reporting manager will support all aspects of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax management, budgeting, and forecasting within the organization. They will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, leading the extended accounting team, and support in providing strategic financial guidance to management. The Financial accounting & reporting manager role at Galderma requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Job Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: The Financial accounting & reporting manager will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. They will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, as well as internal policies. Additionally, they will consolidate financial data from various sources and present it in a clear and understandable format to stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Month-end Process Management: Leading the month-end closing process for entities across the Middle East, the Financial accounting & reporting manager will oversee the entire process to ensure its efficiency and accuracy. This includes coordinating with different departments to collect financial data, reviewing balance sheets and other financial statements, and making necessary adjustments to improve the accuracy of financial reporting. They will also ensure alignment with global month-end processes and standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Staying abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant laws, the Financial accounting & reporting manager will ensure the organization’s financial practices adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements. They will implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks related to financial reporting and taxation.
  • Tax Management: Overseeing the preparation and filing of tax returns, the Financial accounting & reporting manager will ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations. They will manage tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing tax benefits for the organization. Additionally, they will liaise with internal and external tax advisors and authorities to address any tax-related issues or inquiries.
  • Internal Controls and Audit: Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls, the Financial accounting & reporting manager will safeguard the integrity of financial data and prevent inaccuracies in financial reporting. They will lead the coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and addressing any audit findings or recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Managing and mentoring the extended accounting team, the Financial accounting & reporting manager will provide guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and effectiveness. They will assign responsibilities, set performance objectives, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure the team’s success. Additionally, they will foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
  • Professional Accounting Qualification such as ACA, CPA, ACCA.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, with managerial or supervisory experience, 4 years post qualification experience.
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, leadership, and team management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
