FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a talented and motivated Financial Administrator to join our Freight Accounting team within the Chartering Operations Department. This team, consisting of five dedicated professionals, operates at the heart of the business. Our work environment is dynamic, international, and challenging, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, support, and ambition.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will act as a key liaison between the Operations Offices and the Business Controllers, providing essential financial support to ensure clear insights into the results of each shipment. You will be responsible for maintaining an organized workflow and effective communication within the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Expense Management: Prepare and control various operational expenses to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor outstanding balances, allocate receipts, and manage payment preparations.
  • Month-End Procedures:Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end closing procedures, supporting Business Controllers to ensure smooth administrative processes.
  • Trade Deal Reviews: Review all trade deals executed by Freight Derivative Traders to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Voyage/Shipment Financial Checks: Conduct financial checks for the closing of voyages and shipments, ensuring all financial aspects are thoroughly reviewed.
  • Ad-Hoc Support:Handle various ad-hoc business requests and contribute to (IT) projects aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting and reporting processes.

Who we’re looking for

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or business economics.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a financial role.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with the capacity to adapt and respond quickly across different levels of the business.
  • You are IT literate, with extensive knowledge of MS Office being highly desirable.
  • A practical attitude with strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and a no-nonsense mentality.
  • You can work independently but also thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • You are eager to learn about the business and understand its operations.
  • luent in English, both verbal and written.
