Metro College of Technology is a private career college in Toronto, Ontario. Since 1998 it has successfully been providing career-focused training programs to the public. The programs at Metro College of Technology cover engineering, data science, information technology, accounting and payroll administration, and Enterprise Resource Planning. The college trains its students with state of the art knowledge and skills to meet today’s dynamic job market demand.
Currently we are looking for a financial aid officer to join our student admission team.
As a financial aid officer, you will perform the following key duties:
- Provide financial aid information to prospective students
- Perform financial aid estimation for students
- Provide guidance to students who apply for financial aids, including OSAP, Better Job Ontario, COJG, Social Assistance ……
- Guide students with financial aid application document preparation
- Prepare and submit financial aid applications to the financial aid providers
- Monitor student’s financial aid application progress
- Inform students of financial aid release orientation and deliver the orientation to them
- Confirm student’s enrollment for fund release
- Report the student activities to financial aid providers
- Monitor student’s attendance
- Review refund calculation for withdrawal students and report to the financial aid providers
- Troubleshoot student financial aid applications
- Guide students to resolve financial aid troubles
- Inform students of loan repayment webinar and facilitate the webinar
- Assist students with grant restoration application when requested
- Create, maintain, and close student’s financial aid files
- Maintain student’s financial aid records
- Attend college’s related meetings
- Report to financial aid manager regularly
You need to meet the following requirements:
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree
- Over 2 years of successful customer service experience
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Good at and accurate in numbers
- Patient, approachable, and able to identify needs of customers
- Be able to prioritize tasks and work in a tight deadline working setting
- Be able to follow policies, procedures, and instructions
- Be able to manage events and get things done effectively
- Be able to find a better way to get work done
- Be able to work with colleagues and provide support when needed
- Be able to learn new knowledge and skills and apply quickly
- Ba able to speak clearly and write properly in English
- Able to give presentation to a group of people comfortably
Period of the position: 6 month contract
Start Date: Oct 11, 2022

Salary: $19-22/Hour + bonus
