FINANCIAL ANALYSIS & PROJECTS MANAGER

We are looking to hire someone to work in our Columbus, Ohio office with a hybrid schedule (2 days/week in office)*

JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Analysis & Projects Manager provides value-added financial planning and analysis services across NiSource in support of our short term and long-term financial aspirations. The Manager is focused on coordinating all finance functions to frame, analyze, and recommend paths forward on emerging enterprise-wide value creation opportunities and decisions. They perform and/or coordinate the financial analysis of various material and emerging strategic projects related to the enterprise, such as proposed legislation/regulations, investment opportunities, key business decisions and implementation of new technologies or processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related discipline
  • A minimum of 4 years progressive experience working in Finance, Accounting or other related business field, and willingness to manage and lead all facets of Financial Planning
  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication and presentation capabilities
  • Ability to build strategic relationships and gain commitment to influence holistic strategic direction
  • Ability to frame and investigate ambiguous questions
  • High intellectual curiosity
  • Collaborates to drive action
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Financial systems experience
  • Demonstrated financial technical knowledge of interdependencies between business drivers and resulting impact to the financial statements

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • Master’s Degree MBA
  • 1-3 years Previous leadership experience
  • 1-3 years Experience and knowledge in Regulatory environment
  • 1-3 years Strategy/Consulting or Project Management experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Upon Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Develops financial presentations for Senior Management and the Board of Directors including impact on EPS, O&M Expense, Capital Expenditures, Equity, Long-Term Debt and Dividend activity
  • Participates as key financial planning representative in cross-discipline teams developed to research and analyze corporate business issues
  • Frames and leads projects aligned with team processes and guidelines
  • Coordinates with virtual team and initiative sponsors to ensure project success
  • Ensures high quality financial plan analysis including appropriate reviews and leadership alignment
  • Reports out findings to appropriate leadership teams
  • Builds and maintains a strong partnership with utility, corporate and operational leaders creating a cohesive working relationship regarding financial analysis and implications
  • Provides proactive leadership, communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the analysis process and guides a virtual team to successful execution of all aspects of financial analysis
  • Leads/drives/executes accurate, reliable and comprehensive analysis and supporting data through a full understanding of financial plans (revenue, O&M, capital, FFO, etc.) and interdependencies
  • Identifies business drivers of financial performance and financial plan impacts to provide leadership with operational insight to influence decision making
  • Leads business case analysis and ad hoc financial support across NiSource
