We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our clients’ team in Sackville, NB, providing critical financial and analytical support for research grants and contracts. This contract role will support financial administration and compliance across various grant accounts, working closely with Principal Investigators, research services, and funding agencies.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, preferably in accounting; candidates with equivalent experience may also be considered
- 2 – 3 years of financial accounting experience, ideally with a financial analysis focus
- Proficiency in ERP systems and data extraction
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial reporting software
- Proficiency in large-scale accounting software, with proven skills in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to exercise independent judgment and focus on customer service

Responsibilities:
- Extract financial data from ERP system and organize input into predefined templates for reporting
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and insights
- Generate and distribute accurate, timely financial reports for internal stakeholders and external funders
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with departmental goals
- Ensure financial accountability for external research accounts, collaborating closely with other departments and funding agencies
- Administer internal and start-up grant awards, monitor expenditures, and maintain comprehensive documentation for auditing purposes
- Activate and manage new accounts, maintain account reconciliations, and prepare financial reports, invoices, and year-end statements for funders and audits
- Collaborate across departments to gather and verify information needed for accurate reporting and financial planning
