POSITION SUMMARY

This Financial Analyst position will report to the VP, Finance and be responsible for providing the business with analytical tools and insights that measure profitability, quality and efficiency and support the development of operational and financial strategies. The primary role will be to help senior management make timely, well-informed decisions. Professionals in this position need to have a strong and solutions-oriented ethic and exhibit intellectual curiosity and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting or economics, business administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 0-5 years of experience in financial industry; mortgage lending (especially business purpose lending experience) preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work with large data sets.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Resourceful problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proven analytical and financial modelling skills and advanced excel expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all data used for financial analyses.
  • Design, prepare and analyze financial models, providing meaningful input regarding trends and issues to be addressed, and maintain and update financial models for quality and accuracy.
  • Assist in the analysis and reporting of financial results and develop insightful presentations that summarize data and facilitate decision-making and variance explanation.
  • Provide insights & analytics for the annual budget and quarterly forecasts and provide forecast updates including variance analysis with commentary and explanation for significant variances.
  • Partner with internal technology team in assisting in the implementation and continuous enhancements of financial systems.
  • Perform margin and ad hoc analysis to support business initiatives and assist other duties as assigned.
