The client and its finance directorate are embarking on a significant level of change, which necessitates the design and implementation of an overarching Financial Control Environment (FCE). The FCE is founded on a partnership between the multiple stakeholders, financial management systems and strategic partners.
To support the design and implementation phase, we are seeking a detail oriented, highly analytical financial analyst to join our finance team with a view to supporting the finance lead across flagship projects and the finance directorate’s new financial management systems.
Responsibilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position will play a key role in the planning, design and implementing of the multiple finance aspects of Transport Technology projects. The resource will assist the coordination of the finance work streams for projects ensuring that interdependencies, risks, and issues are identified and mitigated. The role will assist the lead on the finance business readiness for Next Generation Ticketing and support the Head of Technology and Treasury Finance in the design, documentation and establishment of robust financial governance and control.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE
The Financial Analyst areas of responsibility will include but not be limited to the following:
- Communicating information in a clear and engaging manner to multiple stakeholders and projects
- Responsible for developing the following deliverables included but not limited to operational plans, Performance guidebooks, scheme rules/operating rules as they apply to the finance control environment.
- Identify and design processes and policies in the areas of change and participate in design workshops on financial/transaction work streams.
- Assist with the detailed planning and delivery of the finance organisation readiness of the finance work streams for major projects in Transport Technology, including Next Generation Ticketing.
- Coordinate with applicable internal and external teams to define, plan and deliver all finance aspects of the ticketing solution’s planning and controls.
- Ensure clear, open communication with multiple stakeholders including Transport Technology, Financial Management System projects, external vendors and the Financial Control Environment team members to ensure that all aspects of financial planning and controls are incorporated into the new schemes.
- Support the finance lead in ensuring that PCI DSS compliance processes and supporting documentation have been satisfactorily delivered for all payment channels;
- Ensure the business requirements and system designs are clearly defined and implemented from a finance perspective;
- Effectively support the finance lead and Head of Technology Finance and Treasury with NGT and system developments including the Financial Control Environment;
- Assist the Authority on other ad hoc items as they arise.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS & KEY COMPETENCIES
- A recognised accounting qualification, with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience;
- Excellent business analyst skills with experience in process mapping and redesign;
- Ability to support workshops and ensure key stakeholder alignment;
- Strong organisational and project management skills with experience implementing finance systems and associated projects;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a Business Partnering mind-set;
- Strong analytical ability, with a logical approach to problem solving utilising Power BI
- Dynamic, with a natural focus on the ‘big picture’, combined with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, with a ‘can-do’ approach and the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines; and.
- Previous ERP implementation experience in Tier 1/Tier 2 solution – preferable but not essential;
