Description:

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Experience with capital budgeting and forecasting in a hospital or industry setting
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CA, CMA or CGA) designation is preferred
  • High proficiency using SAP and Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive in owning projects and processes, working independently without detailed instruction
  • Multi-tasker with a solid sense of prioritization and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Flexibility to work off-hours in time sensitive situations

Responsibilities:

The General Accounting department of Sunnybrook Health Science Centre has an opening for Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in maintaining and owning all aspects of the Hospital’s fixed asset ledger. The successful candidate must have demonstrated success working independently as a self-starter in fast paced environment, along with excellent interpersonal skills.

Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible to:

  • Act as Finance point of contact for all Capital Requisitions issued
  • Maintain and manage all aspects of the Asset Subledger within SAP, including fixed assets and capital funding
  • Maintain and manage capital budgets & associated spend within SAP
  • Prepares and uploads journal entries into general ledger
  • Assists Manager in creation of annual capital and depreciation budget
  • Liaise with other departments, including Corporate Planning, Clinical teams, Foundation, etc. to ensure records are accurate & up to date
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of data in compliance with Hospital policies & accounting standards
  • Prepare & reconcile all fixed asset & capital funding related consolidated continuity schedules
  • Prepare all aspects of Ministry reporting for fixed assets
  • Provide schedules & all supporting documents for financial statements and audit
  • Provide suggestions for improvement of current processes and schedules for efficiency purposes
  • Ad-hoc analysis, projects and other assignments as required
