The Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the financial success of our production company, providing accurate and timely financial reporting, cost tracking, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role supports the Financial Controller in all corporate reporting functions, enabling smooth financial operations and allowing creative teams to focus on delivering exceptional content. Key responsibilities include managing month- end processes, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute month-end closing processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and post production-related journal entries while adhering to deadlines and maintaining precision.
  • Reconcile production accounts, resolve discrepancies, and manage production drawdowns, cost invoices, and accruals in close coordination with the Financial Controller.
  • Ensure the timely reconciliation of intercompany transactions and ensure they are balanced.
  • Organise and prepare production-related financial documentation required for annual audits.
  • Address audit queries promptly and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure full compliance with relevant taxation legislation.
  • Manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) obligations and related matters.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations and maintain the asset register, ensuring its accuracy.
  • Oversee internal capital expenditure (CAPEX) cost reporting and ensure accurate tracking.
  • Provide support for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Manage royalty report collection and ensure the timely distribution of investor income for completed projects.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the finance team.
