In this newly created role, the Financial Analyst – Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) will be actively involved in building quantitative processes to analyze key metrics and initiatives on a regular basis. These include operating expenses, capital expenditures, strategic investments and cash forecasting. In addition, you will play a significant role in the preparation and analysis of the Fortis’ annual operating plan (“AOP”).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, investment banking or other related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and be a trusted functional leader
  • Team player that has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of management
  • Highly motivated individual with a proven track record of meeting commitments in a deadline-driven environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, organize and analyze key data from each of Fortis’ business units related to headcount, compensation, facilities, and third-party suppliers; provide insight relative to trends vs. historical periods and the AOP.
  • Collaborate with Corporate and local accounting teams to move financial analysis tools from Excel to more technologically advanced solutions.
  • Collect and organize historical data to ensure and efficient AOP process; establish efficient AOP-to-actual analyses with emphasis on efficient process and utilization of technology.
  • Create financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making.
  • Develop monthly financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
  • Build automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
