Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst assesses financial data, prepares reports, and provides insights to enable informed decisions that are instrumental in supporting financial performance and driving organizational objectives. They are responsible for preparing financial models, budgets, forecasts, and annual budget reports. Working closely with the Financial Accountant and Agency Leadership, the Financial Analyst provides analysis and interpretations of financial data to support strategic decision-making across the Agency, and ensures filing deadlines are met. They will work closely with the finance team to support the overall financial health of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial analysis, demonstrating a strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in a non-profit organization or in using Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) is preferred
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Advanced skills using accounting software including working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Accounting Software, such as Netsuite, Sage, SAP or other
  • Advanced software skills using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook); experience using Client and Human Resources Information Systems an asset
  • Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask at a high level of concentration
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and yourself
  • Demonstrate ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide:
  • proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • a valid Ontario driver’s licence and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on Agency vehicle insurance policy
  • clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search
  • confirmation of a clean credit check
  • Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates
