JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will be an integral resource required to assist in all areas of accounting including cost accounting, financial close process and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance.
- A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of accounting experience.
- Above average computer skills including competence with fully integrated manufacturing software (Dynamics AX / DBA), Sage and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP implementation considered a strong asset.
- Experience in cost accounting considered a strong asset.
- Exceptional problem-solving ability.
- Ability to describe or explain financial concepts, and provide clear instructions to others.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise financial reports.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple work activities to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to adapt to interruptions or changes in priorities and complete functions within restrictive deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a leadership role to achieve team or organizational tasks and/or goals.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare reconciliations for assigned accounts ensuring balances are valid and appropriate support exists.
- Perform closing duties (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly).
- Provide financial reports as requested to the parent company.
- Review and suggest improvements to existing processes, procedures and internal controls.
- Manage capital assets workbook and related amortization.
- Perform reporting and analysis such as price-volume mix, revenue segmentation, margin analysis, inflation analysis.
- Prepare aging receivable analysis and provide guidance on collection strategy.
- Prepare various reports including SR&ED and conducts ad hoc projects as required.
- Assist the Accounting Coordinator in the department as necessary.
- Works with internal and external auditors in providing documentation/information.
- Responsible for remittances for Canadian and US tax authorities.
- Act as backup for cash reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
- Perform other duties and projects as requested by management.
