Job Description:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager, Budgets & Financial Analysis and working with VIHA senior executive and management, this position is the primary budget, reporting and financial analysis resource for the assigned program.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Baccalaureate degree and/or professional accounting designation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of 5 years related experience including experience in healthcare program and business case research and development, written reports and presentations, customer-focused services or equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the organization.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and procedures
- Knowledge of computer modeling applications and principles.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis.
- Excellent oral/written and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated judgment, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Computer proficiency using a PC and office suite of software applications.
- Use of a personal vehicle to facilitate travel within a multi-site organization.
