We are looking for a Financial Analyst with strong financial accounting and analytical skills to join our growing team in Toronto. In this role, you will have ownership over a portfolio of real estate assets located in Oxford’s US group; you will gain a full understanding of their operations. For this portfolio, you will be accountable for a diverse set of activities, including full cycle accounting and reporting, real estate performance analysis, certain aspects of consolidated regional reporting and analysis, financial planning, and ad hoc support related to transaction activity.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:Financial Reporting:
Financial reporting for various US properties including timely and accurate recording of monthly results obtained from service providers;
Financial reporting for certain corporate structures including timely and accurate recording of monthly results obtained from service providers;
Month end review and reporting to Corporate Consolidations team: preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, month end key indicator and variance analysis against budgets, equity, investment and intercompany account reconciliations, cash management, general and administrative expense analysis, foreign exchange analysis etc.;
Preparation of various financial information for Joint Venture partners;
Preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements or review of financial statements prepared by third party service providers in various jurisdictions, ensuring consistent application of accounting standards in accordance with local GAAP or IFRS;
Coordination of interim and year-end audits for various entities;
Technical analysis to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for acquisitions and dispositions; and
Completing ad-hoc analyses as required by management.
Responsibilities:
Have a University degree in accounting or business administration
Have completed or are working towards the CPA designation
Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, real estate management company experience preferred but not required
Excel in working in a fast pace, dynamic environment and have demonstrated time management and organizational skills, and an ability to prioritize responsibilities
Have experience working in a large international organization with a complex organizational structure and in a multi-currency environment Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required, and exposure to JD Edwards and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is considered an asset
Are analytical and have the ability to produce analysis with appropriate style and language to support conclusions
Have high attention to detail and accuracy and strong follow-up skills
Have strong written and verbal communication skills
Have strong management/improvement kills with a mindset for continuous improvement
Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a team environment
Are driven to achieving results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through critical thinking
