COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure Prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Budgeting
  • Participate in the budgeting process and all elements involved in the process – including plan resources and timing
  • Financial Analysis
  • Analysis of the financial results for projects and/or operating units.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis on financial information.
  • Process Improvement
  • Work with department staff at improving processes & procedures - including the analysis of processes, identification of issues, and recommendations for improvement

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Naturally adaptive / agile, curious, and a “big picture” thinker; ability to learn, adapt, and introduce new tools / processes as required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment and excel in ambiguity; ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Possesses knowledge of and experience with tools for large scale group management, collaboration, and delivery (i.e. MS Teams / SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (advanced skillset required in Excel).
  • Strong organizational judgement and acumen; ability to apply learnings from experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and legislation (e.g. IFRS).
  • Data analysis and visualization skills are an asset.
  • Education equivalent to completion of a college program or technical school that provides a recognized specific certificate, diploma or license.
  • Clear evidence of a career track record of continual learning and progression; directly / indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job is 2+ years
  • Experience in executive level communications and stakeholder engagement (particularly in complex technology environments or within the Financial Services sector) is considered an asset
  • Experience and proven ability to succeed in complex, ambiguous, and agile work environments with minimal (or no) direction from leadership

Responsibilities:

The Financial Analyst will support financial planning activities, such as resourcing plans to budget. The Financial Analyst will provide expertise to the department for development of financial planning, excel spreadsheets and complete any ad hoc reporting requests. The Financial Analyst will also develop and maintain monthly financial reports across organization.
