WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Financial Analyst – Procurement with an accounting background within manufacturing, to join our Finance team.
This role is based out of our Etobicoke office.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position (in a manufacturing environment) as well as a CPA designation or working toward a CPA
  • Strong understanding of procurement accounting & its reporting
  • Strong understanding of PPV and material variances
  • At least some experience or exposure with working with auditors
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for GR/IR (goods receipt/invoice receipt) accounting, its monthly reconciliation, proper coordination with all relevant stakeholders and ensuring its accurate reporting in Financials
  • Build strategic partnerships with procurement leaders & create financial models for decision-making
  • Assist in planning exercises and providing procurement input for the quarterly and annual budgeting cycles
  • Hold monthly/weekly meetings as needed with procurement stakeholders to monitor approved budgets.
  • Responsible for proper analysis of PPV (Purchase price variance) and all material variances and its timely and accurate reporting.
  • Develop templates, performance metrics and prepare Procurement finance reports
  • Complete month end closing procedures including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, management reports and variance analysis with respect to Procurement accounting
  • Research, review and analyze key procurement operations metrics and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Serve as advisor to, and strategic partner, with our Plant Controller, assisting in most decisions related to forecasts and new initiatives to drive potential profit improvement opportunities and other avenues in pursuit of operational excellence.
  • Assist in coordination with internal and external auditors’ requests for information and supporting schedules
  • Perform SOX compliance activities and support internal and external audit engagements
