Description:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and managing the company’s accounts payable process. This role requires a deep understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, thorough attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
Review, organize, and maintain invoices, bills, and other financial documents.
Maintain a list of payables due, prepare checks, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
Resolve accounts payable issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with suppliers and vendors to address queries related to billings and payments.
Manage monthly closing of financial records and postings.
Reconcile payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate.
Maintain vendor files in an organized and updated manner.
Collaborate with the purchasing and operations departments to ensure accuracy of invoices.
Perform credit checks on potential suppliers and vendors.
Adhere to tax laws and regulations in the processing and recording of transactions.
Prepare financial reports related to accounts payable as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. preferred
Proven experience as an accounts payable specialist or in a similar role.
Proficient in accounting software, data entry, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
Deep understanding of the accounts payable process.
Excellent ability in handling and analyzing numerical data.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Understanding of confidentiality obligations and legal regulations in accounting.
