As a Financial Analyst in Microsoft’s two year Finance Rotation Program(FRP), you’ll explore a variety of financial disciplines through four rotations lasting six months each. This unique opportunity will get you involved in the dynamic high-tech space solving problems using best-in-class tools and technologies. You’ll get exposure to many areas of Microsoft Finance: Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, Capital Markets, Sales and Marketing, Accounting, or the product groups such as Office, Xbox, and Surface.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field (OR Currently Pursuing)
  • OR equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Competency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel (pivot tables, Macros, VBA, etc)
  • Power BI /Tableau or other data visualization
  • SQL/R/Python or other programming/data science
  • Proven ability, experience, and overall understanding of fundamental finance and accounting acumen including data modeling, data analytics, FP&A, forecasting, interpreting financial statements, and reporting
    Financial Analysis IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $64,700 - $119,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $89,000 - $134,400 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn about the various financial cycles as well as the precision and application of Profit & Loss to Microsoft decisions and analysis.
  • Develop data modeling skills by managing and manipulating complex data.
  • Gain an understanding around the focus and strategies of finance leaders, comprehend methods and practices in making executive decisions and further build on advanced modeling skills.
  • Identify the level of risk to both segments of the company and Microsoft as a corporation. Responsibilities include identifying root causes of risks and analyzing business processes and execution plans to provide a framework for improvement. You will also learn relationships and responsibilities of Microsoft’s worldwide subsidiaries, operating centers, and/or corporate entities through on-site engagements, while understanding how to effectively gather information and communicate complex findings.
