Summary:
The Financial Analyst supports the Trident Alaska Manufacturing division of Trident Seafoods Corporation, an Alaska based seafood manufacturer with a Support Center in Seattle. This position, located at our Seattle Support Center, completes financial analysis of production operations, maintains key financial master data, supports financial planning, and prepares sales and margin forecasts and reporting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive finance related experience.
- Four-year degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills, including volume, mix, rate variance analysis.
- Analytical background and experience working directly in a finance environment modeling revenues, costs, and expenses.
- Experience with an ERP system, such as JD Edwards, Oracle, or SAP (preferred)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and building complex financial models and P&Ls.
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work across departments and geographies.
- Database (BI design, SQL, Access) experience.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports annual budgeting process by working with species management team and logistics department to budget for sales volume, pricing rate, and freight cost by customer and product form.
- Prepares, analyzes, and reviews monthly financials by species category with appropriate business leader(s).
- Works with species management team to explain volume and revenue variances vs plan and prior year at product form and customer level. Converts findings into year-to-go financial forecast.
- Works with operations finance team supporting Alaska manufacturing to understand supply and cost rate variances.
- Review and validate customer and item master data accuracy for sales transactions to ensure accurate internal management reporting.
- Generates and distributes weekly/monthly/quarterly volume, sales, margin, and inventory reports as needed.
- In accordance with department policy and process, works with species management team to prepare sales and pricing approval exhibits.
- Supports process improvement projects to update transactional, financial, and reporting processes.
- Supports ad hoc reports and analytical projects as requested.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $33 to $44.
