Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Financial Analyst position assists the financial reporting team with analytics in various financial reporting and operational key indicators.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Actively pursuing the CPA designation (CAPREIT qualifies as an approved training office)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting;
- Financial analysis and problem-solving experience;
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, multi-task and prioritize;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written;
- Ability to work well in a team environment;
- Committed to high quality of work and attention to detail;
- Excellent computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint;
- Real estate experience is an asset
- SAP experience is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of the Management’s Discussion and Analysis and Financial Statements on a quarterly and annual basis
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Information Form and Management Information Circular on an annual basis
- Conduct research on new and amended IFRS accounting policies and assess the impact to the financial statements
- Liaise with the external auditors to address their needs for the quarterly reviews and annual year end audits
- Assist in internal and external reporting packages for various stakeholders
- Prepare and document CAPREIT’s accounting policies and processes
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for review
- Assist with data requests from other teams and departments
- Identify and assist with process improvement initiatives
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by management
