Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Financial Analyst position assists the financial reporting team with analytics in various financial reporting and operational key indicators.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Actively pursuing the CPA designation (CAPREIT qualifies as an approved training office)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting;
  • Financial analysis and problem-solving experience;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multi-task and prioritize;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Committed to high quality of work and attention to detail;
  • Excellent computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Real estate experience is an asset
  • SAP experience is an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of the Management’s Discussion and Analysis and Financial Statements on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Assist in the preparation of the Annual Information Form and Management Information Circular on an annual basis
  • Conduct research on new and amended IFRS accounting policies and assess the impact to the financial statements
  • Liaise with the external auditors to address their needs for the quarterly reviews and annual year end audits
  • Assist in internal and external reporting packages for various stakeholders
  • Prepare and document CAPREIT’s accounting policies and processes
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for review
  • Assist with data requests from other teams and departments
  • Identify and assist with process improvement initiatives
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by management
