ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of recent and related financial and payroll experience in a university or similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience with U of T’s Administrative Management System (e.g. FIS and HRIS), or equivalent systems.
- Experience maintaining and organizing administrative, financial and HR records.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures (e.g. financial policies/procedures, collective agreements).
- Experience in effectively and clearly communicating financial information to university staff and faculty.
- Advanced skills in SAP (specifically FIS and HRIS), or similar systems is required.
- Demonstrated advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of the University’s financial procedures and guidelines, or other similar procedures and strong understanding of payroll rules and processes including CRA rules and requirements.
Responsibilities:
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Acting as the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries
- Preparing payroll records for processing
- Troubleshooting and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents
- Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks
- Preparing accounts payable according to the University Guide to Financial Management
- Preparingand/or processing journal entries
- Preparing expense reimbursements
