Job Introduction
As Financial Compliance Officer, you will act as Selfridges MLRO, appointed to oversee the compliance of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, and that the relevant financial crime regulations, laws and policies are in place. This will include facilitating and reporting on the training of staff across all areas of the business. Implement and maintain a robust financial compliance risk framework and to provide regular status updates and where necessary alert the Selfridges Executive Committee of any current or future financial compliance risks and solutions. support Retail teams to establish more consistent and efficient ways of working across all 4 stores. You will combine your extensive knowledge of Financial Compliance to identify areas of opportunity to improve processes and communication of risk. Keeping the customer first and foremost you will offer solutions and updated guidelines through innovative thinking and techniques. You will liaise with any project that impacts financial compliance supporting and consulting with them from design to implementation.

Responsibilities:

HOW YOU’LL DO IT…YOU WILL BE:

  • A previously FCA approved MLRO with the necessary skills qualifications and experience to undertake the role
  • Able to demonstrate FCA recognised continuous professional development through training and experience
  • Highly knowledgeable. You have broad business knowledge preferably within a retail business, and are passionate about setting and delivering exceptional standards
  • Analytically strong with skills to analyse data from multiple sources to identify risk
  • Adaptive. You have a change mindset, and are happy in an environment of continuous review and improvement
  • Engaging with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders across various functions in order to drive change, including at Director level, presenting process and policy risks in clear and concise summary format, identifying the key issues
