About the Role
The Markets & Treasury Financial Control team (MTFC) is critical in making this happen and is responsible for maintaining a robust control environment whilst producing financial reporting and analysis for the Markets and Treasury divisions. MTFC ensures the business is well managed from a financial and regulatory standpoint through the application of disciplined end-to-end trial balance control processes including but not limited to Balance Sheet (BS) & Profit/Loss (P&L) recognition and substantiation, through new trades review, P&L explain/attribution of all market and model inputs, price testing of trader marked inputs, defined valuation adjustments, analytical review and review of regulatory data, performance attribution, and FX/cash exposures management.
The Financial Control Associate – Central Control role in MTFC is responsible for producing timely and accurate (1) management performance reports such as but not limited to consolidated Markets daily P&L and Flash, (2) daily and Monthly MTFC key control measurements reports covering overall financial end-to-end controls including P&L sign-off, BSOR reporting, Actuals vs Estimates, Overall MTFC adjustments, outsourcing governance, and compliance reporting among others. He/She will work with the wider MTFC team in improving the standard of professionalism on the reporting outputs and the ways of accessing moving towards self-service reporting. He/She is also a trusted advisor expected to develop collaborative relationships within MTFC helping to ensure robust control environment.

What will your day look like?
As a Financial Control Associate, you will also be responsible for, but not limited to:
Sales revenue reporting and data maintenance
Managing markets Sales business and other stakeholders with ad-hoc queries and support required
Supporting business hierarchy maintenance, client mapping maintenance and reporting
Strong relationship with Business and Finance stakeholders to ensure accurate desk and client level reporting.
Working closely with Technology teams and wider Finance as part of developing and delivering change
On-going and frequent dialogue with MTFC internal and external senior stakeholders responding to ad hoc inquiries/ addressing concerns.
Participating in MTFC’s continuous effort for simplification and streamlining of process
Helping out in governance and regulatory efforts
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Markets and treasury product knowledge gathered through past work experience in Markets Finance (Product Control, Valuation Control or Financial Control), Market Risk or Markets Front Office
Process re-engineering and interpersonal skills to form meaningful and value-added relationships with businesses and across finance teams.
Excellent communication skills as will be communicating with senior stakeholders across the bank delivering Markets and Treasury results
Advanced Excel skills and experience in change and automation.
