The Financial Control function plays a critical and highly influential role within the organization, ensuring the completeness and integrity of our financial information, which directly impacts strategic decision-making and overall business success. As the guardians of financial accuracy, this team is responsible for preparing detailed financial statements for both management and local reporting, ensuring compliance with the highest standards and regulations. By handling internal and external audits, the Financial Control team supports clarity and accountability across the organization.
This role in the Financial Controlling team is vital for ensuring accurate financial records and transparency. This role supports the month-end closing, handle statutory adjustments, and prepare essential financial reports, providing critical insights for business decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial records are complete and accurate in alignment with internal and external timelines.
  • Provide assistance during internal and external audits by preparing vital documentation and responding to auditor inquiries to ensure compliance and clarity.
  • Prepare and submit local statutory and management financial reports, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of statutory adjustments and transfer pricing reports, maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (critical metrics) for financial control, supporting the team in identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain and update financial data, ensuring it aligns with internal policies, local regulations, and IFRS standards.

The Power Skills You Bring

  • Strong Financial Controlling knowledge (Balance sheet, Group and Local Financial Reporting and accounting principles).
  • Knowledge of VAT and ISLR withholdings
  • Knowledge in managing exchange systems
  • Management of adjustment calculation for financial inflation
  • Calculation and execution of exchange revaluations
  • Experience leading external audit processes and relationship with commercial commissioner
  • Able to focus to detail and to the accuracy of reporting.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree educated and part qualified - studying for a professional financial qualification. Accounting highly desirable.
  • Experience: 3 or more years proved experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment.
  • Language: English Professional working proficiency.
  • Language: Portuguese highly desirable.
