Job Description
Conveyancing Direct Property Lawyers, part of the leading property services business Connells Group, are looking for a Financial Controller to lead their Finance team in St Leonards.
The ideal candidate will be qualified (ACCA,CIMA or ICAEW) with extensive experience in working for a complex organisation. This is a hands-on role where you will lead a team, oversee transactional finance and manage financial strategy.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Reporting & Monitoring: Oversee management and financial accounts, ensure timely reporting, and optimise cash flow.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Monitor revenue and capital budgets, ensure accurate forecasting, and perform sensitivity analyses.
- Product Cost Modelling: Review cost models for remortgage sales and purchases.
- Control Environment: Ensure strong financial controls, recommend improvements, and oversee finance system integration. Maintain working knowledge of CLC accounting rules. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring performance and covering key roles when needed.
- Audit & Compliance: Liaise with auditors, ensure compliance with IFRS, Companies Act, and manage insurance policies.
- Tax Management: Liaise with Group Tax Department regarding Corporation Tax & VAT.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Qualifications - ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW.
- Strong communication: well-spoken, friendly, and able to work with different people.
