About the team: Evos is consolidating all group financial services into the Evos Shared Financial Services (ESFS). The ESFS is located in our Amsterdam based headquarter. The small team consists of specialist functions in finance operations and financial control, supporting Evos business and group finance in standardization objectives.

About the role: The Financial Controller is a senior specialist responsible for the actuals reporting of entities/ terminals, overseeing the month end close process. The Financial Controller ensures timeliness, quality, control, and compliance, working closely with accounting, financial team, and terminal finance partners or group functional leads in line with Evos finance standards. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage monthly reporting and month end closure activities. Prepare and review monthly reporting in Lucanet following IFRS and group policies, ensuring compliance and quality in Business Central accounting and reporting. Plan and coordinate month end closure tasks, conduct analytical reviews of actuals with stakeholders, and ensure internal controls are in place. Take ownership of given cost or revenue reporting across entities.
  • Financial control of the three holding entities working closely with the group financial control manager, and group functional leads in various cost control and value initiatives. Preparing analytical overviews of costs and supporting the group functions in their budgeting/ planning processes, working closely to support group business control manager in terms of holdings budgeting.
  • Arrange timely reviews and focus on improvements in accounting and reporting processes, identify and follow-through to rationalize and standardize accounting or reporting practices across EVOS entities. Partner with accountants and business controllers to ensure effective accounting practices, accurate input for adjusting entries, and meeting reporting requirements.
  • Review profit/loss, balance sheet and intercompany positions. Supervise balance specifications and reconciliations, highlight open positions, and follow up with business control contacts. Sign off on balance specifications and reconciliations from an ESFS perspective. Effectively engage with the Evos Terminal contacts, ensure timely issue resolutions and follow-ups.
  • Ensure efficient processes, implement templates, and engage with terminals on issues raised. Provide updates to management. Embed internal controls in ERP processes, coordinate audit deliverables of holdings and/or terminals, and ensure transparency of financials.
  • Work with ESFS colleagues and other group functions to enhance finance process standardization, act as a subject matter expert in ERP Business Central, and promote control and initiatives.
  • Manage cash positions and support cash flow forecasts. Provide management support and advice on record-keeping, legal entity reporting, acquisitions, and business combinations. Participate in initiatives or projects assigned by finance management and terminal finance.

About you: You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting / Finance. At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in accounting / reporting. Experience with international finance operations in logistics or comparable industry. Fluent in English and preferable in Dutch.
