FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

As EVRY JEWELS continues to grow, we are creating and seeking our first ever Financial Controller to join our finance team. The Financial Controller will work closely with our CFO, managing the day-to-day accounting responsibilities and being heavily relied on to support our finance and operational activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Applicant must have their CPA designation.
· 5+ years of audit/accounting experience, in the retail/imports industry considered a bonus.
· Excellent communication skills to work effectively with leadership and across departments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

Work Location: In perso

Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee daily financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close processes. Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with standards.
Budget Planning Support: Assist the CFO in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, as well as in documenting and explaining variances. Namely, the 13-week cash flow, monthly, quarterly and annual results.
Profitability Analysis & Cost Control: Provide financial summaries and analysis across our various sales channels to senior management for strategic decision-making. Analyze product and operational costs to identify areas for improvement. Monitor overhead costs and suggest efficiency improvements.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and internation financial regulations. Manage tax compliance, including sales taxes and corporate income taxes. Lead audits and reviews and address findings proactively.
Systems & Process Improvement: EVRY Jewels is planning an accounting software upgrade in early Q2 which would be managed by the Financial Controller. Applicant must be comfortable leading this project, specifically ensuring an accurate transition through diligent testing, meeting deadlines and proactively keeping all stakeholders informed and up to date on the progress.
Inventory Management Oversight: Collaborate with operations and product teams to manage inventory costing and quantity levels. Ensure accurate inventory accounting and valuation by fully understanding all aspects of the landed cost formula and timing implications.
