Description:
The Financial Controller is a critical position in the Finance team, which will report to the VP of Global Finance & work closely with other members of the senior management team. A key part of this senior & highly visible role is to provide business data and analysis to managers within the organisation to assist in business decision-making, control and summarise present key issues as they arise.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A university degree or college diploma in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management/ Administration
- Qualified Accountant: CIMA/ACCA/ICAI or equivalent
- minimum of 5 years at financial management level within the FMCG sector
- Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel and accounting software)
- Corporate accounting experience, including overheads and payroll
- Experience in forecasting and budgeting
- Continuously strive to improve how we operate through streamlining processes or eliminating inefficiencies.
- Proven record of achievement, with specific examples of process improvement achievements
- Experience in large ERP system an advantage
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills a significant advantage
- An analytical proactive thinker who can delve into detail to capture, summarise and present key issues
- Fluency (spoken and written) in English is mandatory
Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting operations, including AR, AP, Payroll and Financial accounting.
- Responsible for the preparation of high quality and timely financial information, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
- Prepare and publish flash results and full monthly results, including all transfer pricing adjustments
- Responsibility for all balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany transactions across multiple entities
- Continuously develop and enhance business process and accounting policies to ensure the highest standard of internal controls
- Responsibility for reforecasting key cost lines on a monthly basis. Responsible for preparation of the annual audit on these areas, including headcount.
- Play a critical role in the development of a suite of internal and external reporting deliverables, including regional P&Ls, cost centre and project analysis.
- Lead the external audit
- Responsible for tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage and develop the finance team
- Support the VP of Finance and CFO to meet business needs as required
- Involvement in Ad hoc projects as required
- Manage and minimise financial control risk
- Ensure that month end time frames are understood by all other functions and their relevant contributions are provided on time.
- Take a lead role in the continued implementation and optimisation of SAP
