QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preference given to candidates pursuing CPA)
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Sage50 and cloud-based ERP systems is a plus
• Previous supervisory experience is an asset
• Experience with inter-company reconciliations, transactions, manufacturing, and job costing is an asset

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a full-time Financial Controller to join our clients team on-site in Ottawa, ON. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Controller will lead a small finance team and manage the organizations finance and accounting operations. As a member of the Executive Committee, the Controller will collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer to optimize the company’s operational capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the financial management of the company
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and budgets
• Develop, implement, and report on financial metrics as needed
• Manage payroll functions and administration
• Provide leadership and support within the finance department
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, processes, and procedures
• Serve as the primary liaison with external accountants and financial institutions
• Perform other duties as required
