Description:

Reporting to VP, Finance & Accounting and working closely with Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, the Controller, Real Estate Finance will play a leading role in the execution of the company’s finance function. The candidate is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the Property Management Finance and Accounting function.
This role will manage all aspects of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audit support and financial reporting, and will play a key part in strategic planning, risk management, and optimizing financial operations. The candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and implementation of the robust and scalable reporting and analysis processes to drive business decision-making backed with analytics.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in real estate property accounting and leading auditing process, with a focus on apartments and/or retirement residence
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting in the real estate industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and accounting software (Yardi preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively manage a diverse team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
