We are now looking for a Financial Controller to join our team.
The preferred location for the position is in Rubbestadneset but also in Stord, Norway is a possible location.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Financial Controller, Statutory, Tax & Company Compliance (ST&CC), you will be a key partner working closely with various teams within WGBS and beyond. Your role will be proactive, outward-looking, and future-focused. You will use your strong networking and influencing skills to identify opportunities and risks, and define ways to measure and report on key financial and operational indicators.
You will be responsible for the operations and performance of local ST&CC processes, financial information, and external financial statutory reporting. Ensuring an accurate view of the risks, rewards, and financial position of the legal entity will be a crucial part of your job. Additionally, you will provide valuable support for businesses, ensuring high-standard financial reporting according to Wärtsilä Group Directives and Policies, as well as local accounting requirements.

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER, ST&CC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LEGAL ENTITY AS FOLLOWS:

  • Managing, controlling, and ensuring the correctness of the company-level financial position according to legal compliance and Wärtsilä Corporation accounting manual, directives, policies, guidelines, and requirements.
  • Collecting and preparing financial information, reports and analyses to internal and external stakeholders and authorities, e.g. local statutory reporting
  • Providing and presenting Financial Review material to the company Board of Directors Meeting
  • Co-ordinating external auditing, internal auditing and internal control reporting of the company.
  • Supporting and participating in the development and optimization of WGBS and ST&CC projects which require financial competence and support, in cooperation with global process owners and other stakeholders
  • Supporting and advising businesses in financial processes related to statutory, tax and company compliance
  • Tax-related compliance in cooperation with Tax CoE (calculations reclaims, risk reporting, litigations, auditing)

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent education.
  • 3-5 years of experience in finance related to the position.
  • Expertise in financial statutory accounting, company compliance, and/or taxation.
