FINANCIAL CONTROLLER, ART GALLERY, LONDON, £54-60K, 6M FTC
We are partnering with a prestigious art gallery in London to find a Financial Controller to lead their financial operations and support their continued growth. This key leadership role involves overseeing financial controls, statutory compliance, and team development to ensure the smooth running of the gallery’s finance function. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled finance professional to join during an exciting phase of transformation and development. They are looking for someone to start in January.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Fully qualified ACCA or ACA accountant with strong technical accounting expertise.
Demonstrated experience in financial control, statutory accounts preparation, and compliance.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a complex environment.
Familiarity with the Financial Reporting Manual (FRM) and charity accounting standards is desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
Proficiency in spreadsheets and financial systems, with a keen eye for detail and process improvement.

Responsibilities:
Oversee financial operations, including ledgers, cash flow, and statutory accounts preparation.
Lead year-end processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and coordinating with auditors.
Manage VAT, PAYE, and gift aid compliance, staying updated on relevant legislation.
Supervise and develop a team of up to five, providing mentorship and clear leadership.
Collaborate with Trustees, directors, and project managers to deliver financial insights.
Enhance financial systems and processes, driving improvements across the department.
Support counter-fraud measures and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
