EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to communicate effectively, persuade and influence others, especially when contacting members/investors and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of analytical and creative thinking skills to identify and respond to ALERT/ possible fraudulent transactions and make sound judgments and decisions.
  • Self-driven and capable of working mainly independently.
  • Solid understanding of superannuation/ corporate markets and fraud AML/CTF legislation.
  • Ability to produce and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
  • Experience with eliciting business requirements and performing analysis is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word etc), and structured analysis tools and techniques.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

This is a 12-month fixed term role based in in our office at 727 Collins Street, Melbourne. As a Financial Crimes Analyst, you will action daily analysis of potentially fraudulent transactions and support the service delivery of Fraud and AML/CTF processes. This covers both internal and external fee for service tasks, regular member and investor contact and establishing strong working relationships across the business and driving continues process and procedural improvements.
This role is critical to the MUFG and is focused on ensuring that we protect our clients, their customers, and the MUFG from the negative impacts of financial crime.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributing towards MUFG’s wider fraud mitigation strategies and actioning daily ALERT assessments and broader AML analysis and reporting. Making daily decisions on the correct fraud preventative measures specific to each account analysed.
  • Drive process improvement and efficiency through technology and innovation.
  • Although there is no specific people leadership in this role, it would be advantageous to demonstrate a display of leadership skills and a desire to take on a leadership role when required.
  • Though not directly managing any direct reports, we do expect our Financial Crimes Team to exhibit role model behaviour and be leaders and champions for financial crime protection.
  • Comply with superannuation, Fraud/ AML/CTF legislation and policies, and communicate effectively with clients and regulators.The Financial Crimes team interacts with governance and risk areas internally according to MUFG’s internal Risk and Financial Crimes policies, and with our clients and government regulators.
