FINANCIAL DATA ANALYST - PERMANENT, CANARY WHARF

Hours: 40 per week, 08.30am - 17.30pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main purpose of this role is to accurately maintain the chart of accounts and nominal ledger for the property accounting system, Propman (and any successor system), train colleagues on the property accounting system and analyse large amounts of data to gain financial efficiencies. The Financial Data Analyst will also be expected to interact with Property Directors/Managers and site teams to work on varied projects that include designing and developing metrics, reporting and analysis to drive key business decisions.

  • Support the Service Charge & Systems Lead (SCSL) to ensure the chart of accounts and nominal ledger are appropriately set up and maintained.
  • Provide training to head office and site colleagues on purchase orders, invoices, journals, cash and any other transaction to be entered into the property management system.
  • Support the SCSL in implementing new reporting methods and streamlining processes.
  • Support the SCSL in standardising all processes relating to the property management system.
  • Liaise with the Property Accounting team, Property directors, Site office/administration staff regarding purchase order set-up, invoice administration and processing.
  • Report on the status of the purchase ledger on the property management system, ensuring it is purged regularly as necessary, for the receiving and processing of all properly authorised invoices, expense forms and requests for payment.
  • Implement quality controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and ensure the accuracy of reporting. Collaborate with teams to ensure the consistency of data in financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of financial models and implement automation solutions to optimise the reporting process.
  • Modernise reporting tools by offering new visualisation and publication solutions, such as Power BI reports.
  • Ensuring that all filing is done in a timely and accurate manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 2 - 3 years financial analysis experience required.
  • Ideally part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proficiency in information systems including spreadsheets, databases, and ERP.
  • Strong command of MS Office applications and confident in using Power BI.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, with strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise a variety of conflicting work requests.
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically, meticulous and consistent in approach.
