Description:
A growing energy company based in here in Houston is seeking an experienced individual to join their company as Manager of Market Risk to overseeing their operations here in the US.
This position requires the individual to lead the market risk team, which involves the ownership of the limits over the various Market, Credit, Quantitative and Risk Controls, ensuring a strong risk framework is in place with the use of various commodities that are utilized in running their operations. 10+ years of experience in market risk required. Key Responsibilities
Full ownership and oversight of the Companies Product Risk team (daily production of P& L and exposures, valuation of physical transactions, some commercial responsibilities) and partial oversight of the local Market Risk team (
Lead and supervise an established team including recruitment where necessary and training of new individuals.
Set a vision and a strategy for the risk team, encompassing risk analysis and practices, systems, people and new business
Work closely with the VP of Risk and be able to collaborate with various members of the senior leadership team to support and improve processes, procedures and new initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements
10+ years of experience in Product Risk/Control, Market Risk or similar roles
Commodity experience, preferably oil, gas, power or LNG, required
Technical expertise in systems, such as Python, cQuant, SQL, VBA, etc.
Advanced degree in engineering, math, or finance from a top school are necessary
Team management experience necessary with the ability to develop and mentor junior members of the team, include employees in other offices
Good commercial acumen as the individual will have to interact closely with the group senior leadership
