Description:

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong Financial Project Manager to support our higher-education client on a 9+ month project in order to support a system integration project.
The ideal consultant will be responsible for establishing a new chart of accounts and helping to create feasible processes in the system for all finance functions. The Interim Financial Project Manager will play a crucial role in our team by ensuring smooth operation and efficiency of our finance department.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the implementation of MIP accounting software across the organization, working with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
Set up a customized chart of accounts suitable for the specific financial needs of the organization.
Create, standardize, and implement accounting and financial processes within the MIP system.
Manage and oversee all financial project operations to meet timely financial reporting requirements.
Participate in data clean up ahead of the integration as well as post migration.
Coordinate with different team members to ensure sufficient user training for the MIP software.
Ensure compliance with standard accounting practices and company policies.
Continuously monitor financial processes to identify areas for improvement.
Produce clear, well-structured project management reports.
Document processes post-implementation.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a project manager, specifically with experience implementing systems from a finance perspective.
Experience in non-profit industry or higher education strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge and proven working experience in MIP software.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
Strong understanding of finance operations, policies, and procedures.
Hands-on experience in accounting and financial reporting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with tight deadlines.
CPA or related certification is a plus.
