Financial Reporting Accountant - 18 Month Contract

There is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the Accounting team in Vancouver as an Financial Reporting Accountant on a 18-month maternity leave contract. The ideal candidate possesses an inquisitive mind, a very high attention to detail, progress / completion of an accounting designation and excellent accounting and technical skills. Being a team player and possessing a steadfast commitment to getting the job done is vital to the culture of the organization.

• Prepare year end working paper files
• Prepare year-end and interim financial statements
• Record year end adjusting entries and reversing entries
• Record all accruals and adhere to appropriate cutoff procedures
• Create soft copies of year end working paper files after completion
• Prepare T2 corporate tax returns
• Review monthly bank reconciliations
• Ensure sub ledger balances match with control accounts (monthly and year end)
• Reconcile intercompany accounts
• Assist and facilitate annual audit / review engagements and liaison with auditors
• Legal inquiry for year ends: discuss collectability and reasonableness with Legal team
• Prepare components / sections of Onni Group consolidated financials
• Maintain standardized CaseWare / CaseView procedures
• Maintain paperless working paper / year end processes
• Maintain a schedule of loss carry forwards
• Assist VPs, Directors, COO, and CFO if required
