Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility: The Financial Reporting Analyst works closely with the CFO, and other senior accounting staff on financial reporting for the holding company and bank. The Analyst is responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, controls and budgets to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and banking/holding company regulatory requirements.

  • Manage the preparation, review, and timely distribution or filing of various regulatory and management reports, including the annual Proxy statement, in accordance with banking and holding company regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements and guidelines, including quarterly earnings releases, quarterly and annual SEC financial statements on Forms 10-Q and 10-K in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and ensure timely filing of each.
  • Collaborate with senior accounting staff to evaluate and document accounting controls over financial reporting, policies, and procedures. Ensure that various accounting and control functions, including SOX 404, are established, maintained, communicated and performed according to established procedures, systems and practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring financial transactions are recorded in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of Director and Employee stock-based compensation tracking, accounting and applicable required SEC reporting (Form 4s).
  • Collaborate with senior accounting staff on internal and external financial audits. Ensure required audit schedules and work papers are prepared and organized. Ensure required quarterly audit and income tax schedules are prepared, organized, and/or reviewed. Coordinate responses to audit and exam requests for accounting related reports. Apprise senior management of any significant concerns arising from examinations or audits. Recommend solutions and partner with the CFO and Senior Director of Accounting and Finance to implement necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with senior accounting staff to prepare monthly financial statements and schedules for inclusion in the board of directors reporting package.
  • Collaborate with senior accounting staff to prepare and monitor the annual budget.
  • Collaborate with senior accounting staff on the research and analysis of monthly reports, such as yield and profitability analyses.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to research, understand and apply FASB and GAAP codes and principles.
  • Knowledge of current regulations affecting accounting in a publicly traded company (SOX).
  • Knowledge of payroll ledger transactions and tax deposits.
  • Knowledge of general ledger concepts, functions and practices.
  • Knowledge of asset and liability concepts, functions and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheet functions.
  • Aptitude for data research and analysis.
  • Knowledge of database concepts and data extraction.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to detail and organization.
  • Professional demeanor and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgement, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including internet browsers and Microsoft Office Suite products.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • Four-year degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related experience and/or training at a publicly-traded company.
  • Experience leading and managing projects.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, preferred.
    Excellent benefits package for eligible employees and their families. Competitive salary BOE in the range of $86,000 - $126,000 Annually.
