INTRODUCTION:

About the Role
The Financial Reporting Manager will play a pivotal role in our finance department, responsible for managing our financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with ASIC regulations, Australian Accounting Standards, and other relevant financial reporting requirements. This individual will focus on process improvements, quality assurance and controls, and gain exposure to financial modelling and performance monitoring.

DESCRIPTION:

Key Accountabilities

Reporting directly to the CFO, this dynamic role offers the opportunity to shape the financial landscape of our organization. You’ll be at the forefront of establishing a best-in-class finance team. Your key responsibilities will be both varied and impactful, including:

  • Leading the charge in crafting comprehensive financial statements and support schedules, championing accuracy, completeness, and punctuality – ensuring compliance with ASIC regulations and accounting standards
  • Orchestrating the external audit process, acting as the vital link between our team and auditors to ensure a seamless and efficient audit.
  • Developing concise, technically robust accounting papers, complete with associated policies and procedures that will serve as the cornerstone of our financial integrity.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly regulatory submissions, including critical calculations and forecasts required as part of our financial services license requirements.
  • Conducting thorough Balance Sheet Reconciliations to ensure the financial health and transparency of our organization.
  • Implementing Quality Assurance measures for our processes and controls, elevating our financial operations to the highest standard.
  • Contributing to the Risk & Audit Committee and Financial Governance process,
  • Managing and refining company valuation and budget models, providing strategic insight into our financial planning and performance.
  • Engaging in a variety of ad hoc projects, from competitor analysis to specialized reporting, you will have the opportunity to dive deep into the financial dynamics that drive our industry.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATES:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a financial managerial position with a proven record of success
  • Experience within the Financial Services, Banking, or Trading industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels.
  • Sound decision making skills based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Results oriented and metrics driven, coupled with exceptional time management.
  • Strategic thinking, planning and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead by example and demonstrate a strong sense of integrity, ethics and dependability.
  • Professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software.
  • Ability to collaborate with management to organize, plan and achieve company financial goals.
