JOB SUMMARY:

Performs key billing functions to support professional billing revenue cycle process, in accordance with established Hospital and Departmental policy and procedure. Performs other clerical functions to support Hospital and Departmental requirements. May assign, oversee and monitor work of other employees. Works proactively and in partnership with other staff and physicians contributing to effective operations. Delivers service in conjunction with Hospital’s customer service standards and expectations.

• Optimizes collections and charge entry/charge capture process for all services provided.
• Performs general clerical duties necessary to support physician office practice operations.
• Performs duties and responsibilities to support internal and external compliance standards. Consistently exhibits LBH customer service standards and expectations in all aspects of work.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate’s degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology through formal training/previous experience.
• Minimum of two years professional or hospital billing experience including CPT/ICD coding (3+ years of experience preferred).
