Our values are our motivations
We have four key values, collaborative, authentic, respect and dynamic and these values are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for people who also believe in these drivers as we work together to achieve success for both our colleagues and our clients alike.
The role
Financial Services
Team Our Financial Services team has a deep knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations, sector-specific tax issues and structuring considerations.
The team work with approximately 250 regulated clients. They provide hedge fund managers, private equity and venture capital managers, wealth managers and advisory firms, with advice to help them establish and grow their business. They can advise regulated firms on legal structures regarding the relationships between the funds they manage and the ways that the managers are remunerated. Equally, they know that the personal tax of those managers is often complex due to these same remuneration policies, and are well placed to advise on this too.
What does the role entail?
This Apprenticeship will see you supporting clients from the Financial Services industry with Outsourced Accountancy tasks such as bookkeeping, preparation of management accounts, account reconciliation, completion of VAT returns and reconciliation, payroll processing, arranging bank payments and liaising with the wider accounts team. You could also manage ad hoc queries from clients and work directly with HMRC.
This role would suit someone with a desire to further their education with a professional qualification whilst receiving relevant experience and on-the-job training within a top London practice.
For candidates, excellent communications skills are a must, as are the personal skills necessary to work as a team member and maintain good relations with clients. It is expected that candidates will be able to demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills. This role will see you complete the AAT Level 3 & 4, and you may have to opportunity to continue on to complete the ACCA/ACA following successful completion.
This role will start in September 2025.
What can we offer you?
When you join Blick Rothenberg as an associate, you gain much more than a qualification. You join the Blick Rothenberg culture and way of life. You will enjoy early responsibility and will find our business to be friendly and our working environment to be both lively and stimulating.
To balance the demands of a busy role and study, our teams host regular social events, and our annual firm-wide Summer and Christmas Parties are enjoyed by all.
We are committed to the development of our trainees. In addition to you training with our external training provider, we run regular in-house technical training courses as well as practical personal development training such as communication, teamwork, and transition to the workplace.
Skills & experience
For us, the personal attributes of each of our colleagues are what makes us authentic in the marketplace. We look for people who:
- Can collaborate with peers but can also bring their own voice to the table.
- Are dynamic in their approach and respectful of other people’s opinions.
- Want to be more than just a team member, someone who wants to join likeminded individuals.
- Want to work in a medium-sized firm such as ours.
- Are inquisitive and enjoy learning new concepts.
We are not looking for someone who knows everything already, but someone who is committed to their development and keen to work hard and learn.
You will be fully supported through the completion of your AAT qualification levels 3&4, with mentoring and coaching provided to support your success.
