Our corporate defence and compliance team is led by Dan Stowers (partner) who has taken the team from strength to strength since joining in 2022. Due to the continued success of the team, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a senior financial services regulatory lawyer to develop and lead the financial services specialism.
The team have a wealth of experience in all aspects of financial crime and compliance including attendance at interviews under caution, prosecutions and drafting, training and reviewing proactive and reactive policies and procedures, including those around dawn raids, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, anti-tax evasion and anti-fraud. In addition, the team advises on internal investigations as well as crisis and reputation management.
This role will enhance the team’s capabilities and develop a FS dedicated practice. You will be responsible for leading and managing multifaceted investigations and representing clients to navigate complex challenges with regulatory bodies, including the FCA. The role will include advisory, transactional/commercial projects regulatory work and you will have the opportunity to work on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of financial services matters, including regulatory compliance, transactions, and litigation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored legal solutions.
- Lead and manage complex legal projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services.
- Mentor and guide junior associates, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of financial services law.
We’re looking for you to bring strong technical experience in corporate defence, business crime and regulatory investigations, gained from working in a financial services regulatory/crime team with a sound understanding of the FCA rules. You will be operating at a senior level, with a proactive and strategic mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. You will have a strong client network and proven ability in building strong relationships with both clients and stakeholders.
This role would suit an ambitious Senior Associate/Legal director who has partnership aspirations or an individual operating at partner level.
