Join Rainforest Alliance as a Finance an Investment Manager / Financial Structuring & Private Investments Specialist as we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional in Financial Structuring / Private Investments to join our team.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to contribute to the reduction of deforestation driven by the production of commodities, promote biodiversity conservation, and enhance community livelihoods on a global level. As the Finance and Investment Manager, you will play a vital role in mobilizing funds and developing investment strategies to support carefully planned landscapes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong skills in evaluating businesses and investment opportunities, coupled with exceptional communication and project management abilities.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in private investment funds, banks, or finance organizations within the agriculture or forestry industry.
  • Interest in sustainable agricultural supply chains and landscapes, with experience in relevant sectors such as agribusiness, forestry, renewable energy, and climate finance.
  • Strong network within the South America region, including local financial institutions, cooperatives, and commodity traders.
  • Proficient in data analysis, critical thinking, and working under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead productive group discussions and workshops with individuals from a variety of sectors.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish, along with fluency in business English.
  • Equivalent experience in finance, management administration, or a relevant field is acceptable, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of conservation and forest protection issues, commodities value chains, public finance, transparency, governance, and ecological processes is an advantage.
  • Experience working with diverse social groups, including women and Indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin, is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the landscape action plans (LAPs) of Colombia and Peru, engaging with relevant parties to understand their financing needs and requirements.
  • Identify financing and incentive mechanisms to mobilize funding for the landscapes.
  • Design investment models based on the LAP information.
  • Identify potential private finance opportunities in the LAPs and take steps towards execution and governance.
  • Collaborate with local businesses in Peru and Colombia, helping them develop business plans and investment strategies.
  • Establish connections with direct investors and financiers for local businesses.
  • Act as the point of contact between the landscape teams, selected organizations, and Clarmondial representatives.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Rainforest Alliance team in meetings and activities related to the above responsibilities.
