Description:
OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a proficient and experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to become a part of our team. The primary focus of this role is on the servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems across a variety of properties, ensuring adherence to industry standards. We seek a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving capabilities and a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
FIA certifications (e.g., Units 1, 5).
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification.
In-depth knowledge of BS 5839 (Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings).
Additional electrical qualifications are a plus.
EXPERIENCE :
Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and servicing of fire alarm systems.
Familiarity with systems from manufacturers such as GENT, Kentec, Morley, and Advanced Electronics.
Experience with access control, CCTV, and intruder systems is advantageous but not essential.
SKILLS:
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective workload management and task prioritization.
Licenses: A full UK driving license is essential.
Responsibilities:
Servicing and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning optimally and meeting compliance standards (BAFE, NSI, BS).
Fault Diagnosis: Identify and troubleshoot issues within fire alarm systems, implementing effective solutions to ensure system reliability and integrity.
Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspections of fire alarm systems, documenting results and ensuring compliance with BS 5839 and other relevant regulations.
Customer Support: Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns, answering queries, and ensuring all work meets the highest quality standards.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring all paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
Installation: Support new installations and modifications of existing fire alarm systems when required.
Emergency Call-Outs: Participate in an on-call rota to respond to emergency maintenance requests outside of regular working hours.
