WSP Middle East is looking for an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, KSA.
Your new role, what’s involved?
- Establish and govern fire protection system guidelines and best practices for all projects within the PMO, ensuring that fire safety measures are consistently applied throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist in verifying compliance with implementing and developing safety assurance systems, fire prevention systems, and emergency response plans
- Develop and implement fire protection strategies across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organizational fire safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Ensure consistent compliance with fire protection codes and regulations, such as NFPA standards and local fire safety regulations, across the project portfolio managed by the PMO
- Provide expert guidance to project managers and design teams on fire suppression systems and fire safety measures, ensuring that fire protection is a key component of project planning and execution
- Oversee the standardization and integration of fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers) across multiple projects to ensure consistency and efficiency in fire safety measures
- Conduct portfolio-wide fire risk assessments, identifying potential fire hazards across various projects and providing mitigation strategies to reduce riskAnalyze fire behavior and dynamics for different project environments, applying fire engineering principles to support performance-based fire safety designs where prescriptive codes may not apply
- Create and maintain fire protection plans and specifications for PMO-managed projects, ensuring compliance with fire codes and organizational fire safety policies
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers across the portfolio, ensuring fire protection designs are consistently incorporated into the overall project design and construction phasesCommunicate regularly with regulatory authorities and fire departments, ensuring that fire protection measures across all projects meet legal and safety standards
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of fire protection systems across projects, ensuring consistency, functionality, and adherence to fire safety protocols during testing and commissioning phasesManage the fire protection budget across multiple projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions are applied while maintaining high safety and compliance standards
- Standardize the use of fire-resistant materials and construction techniques across projects within the PMO, ensuring all fire protection measures align with organizational and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with the health, safety, and environment (HSE) team to integrate fire protection measures with broader safety and risk management strategies across the project portfolio
- Provide training and resources to project managers and relevant staff on fire protection systems and safety protocols to ensure consistency and preparedness across projects
- Conduct post-implementation audits and inspections of fire protection systems, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that fire safety measures meet evolving best practices and technology advancements
Responsibilities:
