Description:
Lead on statutory obligations in respect of fire safety and advising the relevant Committees of the effects of new or amended legislation and on the effectiveness of compliance.
Reviewing and updating the Trust’s fire policy and procedures and implementing of robust and effective fire safety protocols, procedures and action plans to mitigate the risk.
Delivery of the Trust’s fire safety training programme and supervising and managing the performance of fire drills in services.
Responsible for inspections and audits against current fire legislation and fire practices across the Trust.
Responsible for the provision of accurate fire risk assessments and action plans and working with the Head of Estates and managers to address significant findings and implement action plans and associated control measures.
Produce comprehensive compliance reports for communicating to all levels within the Trust including Executive Committees and Trust Board.
Providing expert technical advice on the application and interpretation of fire safety guidance, including the Department of Health Fire Code suite of advice documents and other legislative/regulatory requirements, especially the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Ensure relevant and sufficient fire safety information and assurance is provided to relevant Groups/committees and Trust Board.
Implementing initiatives in line with the strategic approach to fire safety management.
Supporting strategic service planning across the Trust for all future developments to include fire safety consideration.
Supporting the Trust’s approach to fire safety in line with overseeing audits as necessary and the implementation of risk mitigation and improvement fire safety as required
Liaising with local authorities and fire services for the QVH site as required
Undertake review of policies and procedures periodically or when necessitated by changes in legislation.
Undertaking management of Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and reviewing current FRAs where necessary.
Respond to all fire alerts during normal working hours, and ensure process for out of hours alerts;
